An Evening with Jim Straw

Mr. Jim Straw

When I first met long time (“old timer”) marketing wizard Jim Straw at a local event in Atlanta, he struck me as a man with a heart of gold and a rather crusty exterior. I liked him instantly.

On February 23rd, 2012, some friends and I made a pilgrimage to Jim’s home in nearby Dalton, Georgia to record a video session with him on the ins and outs of marketing, and how the profession has changed over the years.  According to Mr. Straw, the message has stayed the same, but the medium has changed quite a bit.

You can hear his 1-hour exclusive talk as part of a recorded podcast on Logical Soul Talk, Tuesday, April 24th, starting at 6 pm ET. You can also dial (347) 843-4544 to hear the show from your phone, but you won’t be able to speak to us live (since its a recorded show).

According to Jim, the marketing message (and human psychology) has jim strawnever changed over the years.  This is why he says he is as successful now in the age of the Internet as he was 40 years ago during the height of the mail-order business boom.

“Marketing approaches have never changed,”  he told me as if to emphasize this point.  “It’s the application that keeps changing.”

He went on to add, “While the Internet has brought faster results, the message has remained the same.  People still buy from those they know, like, and trust, and the application won’t change that.”

Be sure to hear this remarkable man talk about marketing your business in ways you may not have thought about.   Then learn how you can apply this wisdom to your coaching business for greater success!
