By
Michael Craig kicks off Logical Soul Talk today at 6 pm ET ( 3 pm PT) by presenting the first in a series of powerful women in society and business, Gwen Mazer. You can listen to the show online, or call in at (347) 843-4544 to listen or dial “1” to raise your hand an ask Gwen a question.
Ms. Mazer has been the subject of numerous articles and interviews. Here is a summary one article that appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle on February 7, 2007:
When Gwen Mazer speaks, it’s not just with words but also with the visual language of fashion. The founder of Total Image Management in San Francisco says that clothing expands the vocabulary and expresses one’s inner beauty.
As a teen in culture-rich New York City, influenced by art museums and opera, she developed her own line of clothing. Later, she worked at Lord & Taylor, became a stylist at an advertising and photo agency and, in the late 1960s, was the first African American editor at a major fashion magazine when she became a fashion editor at Harper’s Bazaar. In 1978, she was hired as creative director at Esprit in San Francisco, then founded an accessories store on Maiden Lane before consulting for corporate and private customers.
Her new book, Wise Talk, Wild Women, explores the life stories and transformational wisdom of diverse women turning 60 in the 21st century.
