After December 31st at midnight, the year 2013 will have become just a memory. The desire to make New Year’s Resolutions, however, will joyfully and once again rear its ugly head. Why ugly? Because roughly 70% of all such resolutions never make it past the first month! Then we chalk up the whole exercise as useless and another indication that we’re a loser.

The big secret is the same advice given by Socrates: Know Thyself. Learn how to come from who you ARE, not just from what you want. “Want” implies lack, and wanting something means – subconsciously – you don’t HAVE that thing! This is the biggest failing, by the way, with those who try to follow the Law of Attraction and don’t succeed. Success is never attracted to failure, so you have to learn how to come from SUCCESS first!

After her serious car crash on a busy, downtown Chicago expressway, Lakeisha’s life fell apart. She and her daughter moved into a family transitional shelter and took her down the road to depression. Since then, however, Ms. Parnell transformed her life and even encouraged other women in the shelter to get back on their feet.Â
Shortly after her recovery, she moved to Atlanta where she received a call into the ministry as a servant leader (Pastor). She obtained her degree in Christian Ministries, and has become an outspoken advocate for people with epilepsy. Currently, LaKeisha leads a support group sponsored by Emory University called Project UPLIFT, which counsels people who suffer from epilepsy and depression, and is an Epilepsy Foundation H.O.P.E. Mentor.
Today LaKeisha is a member of the Association of Christian Counselors and Black African American Association of Christian Counselors and has taken part in Executive and Leadership Training, Hope Coaching and Single Parent Coaching. She shares her first-hand experiences with a smile to all she meets, and has her own unique take on what it means to find your life purpose.
